This is Sparta!
Unlike such Greek city-states as Athens, a center for the arts, learning and philosophy, Sparta was centered on a warrior culture.
Male Spartan citizens were allowed only one occupation: soldier.
Spartan women were educated
and had a reputation for being independent-minded. They enjoyed more status, power and freedom than other Greek women and were allowed to own and manage a property.
When they were asked why the Spartans were the only women in Greece who "rule" their husbands, they replied that only men who were confident to accept women as equal were real men.
